For those of you that have not seen Bob’s TV program ‘Joy of Painting’, Bob was a well known artist in the 1960’s, who hosted a series of one hour TV programs which are often still shown on TV and are available on You Tube. He developed his own materials and techniques which enabled him to paint a sizable oil landscape or seascape, live on air in one hour, and encouraged viewers to do the same. His programs are well worth watching, if you haven’t seen them!
We have obtained the services of a certified Bob Ross instructor, who visits us occasionally to run a workshop. She provides instruction and all the necessary materials to enable participants to paint an oil picture in two hours, rather than Bob’s one hour, which all participants so far, have been pleased to take home and hang on their walls.
We have painted a snow-capped mountain scene and a moonlit seascape in our two recent workshops. We all paint the same picture – and all of them are different!
We have two more workshops arranged, for Thursday 2nd January and Tuesday 1st April 2025, at St Andrew’s Church, at the cost of £35. There are 16 places available for each workshop.
