Hatshill Hayes - intrepid Walkers 2

The May's amble was in stunningly beautiful HartsHill Hayes Country Park which is very popular with the amblers. It was expertly lead by ambler Chris J.

Unfortunately the Bluebells were past their best but the amblers were treated to beautiful blue skies and the sighting of a Muntjac deer. The Muntjac was grazing and did not seem afraid of humans, carrying on munching as we watched. Muntjacs have a gingery brown coat and are the size of a medium sized dog. They are not native to this country and were introduced from China in the early 20th Century. They are active all year round, day and night, feeding on herbs, shoots and brambles.
