2nd Tuesday of the month

A group to look at our the history of Tamworth and the surrounding area.

Tamworth for a time was a major city in England with an ancient past but in the 1960's became an overspill town for Birmingham.

How did that come about?

Please note we are meeting on the second Tuesday of the month.

Please let me know if you are attending.

Please note that the local History group are taking a break for the summer.

Next meeting will be in September, more details to follow.

Possible Visit to Repton

The church there has a crypt that was used for the burial of some of our early Anglo Saxon Kings. The remains were later moved but the church and area around was used as a camp for the Viking
Army.

Repton, Lichfield and Tamworth formed important centers to the early Christians.
If this is of interest please contact Tony H.
